Long Time No Blog

I know it's been a long time since my last post so I thought I would catch up a little.

After my bout with the tree and a few days in the hospital, I am now getting back to somewhat normal. I am learning a lot about concussions and the affects of them. I have learned that the dizziness, nausea, lack of concentration, fatigue, and general "funk" can last for months. Needless to say, I am tired of all of those things and ready for this to be over.

And no, I did not pray for patience prior to this.

Getting back in the groove is proving to be a little more difficult than I expected. I am hoping and praying that I am able to be back to my "normal" self soon. In the mean time I am trying to take it easy and trust God to walk with me through this. It is hard on me, my family, and my coworkers. But I believe that it's all going to be fine and I am anxious to see what God is going to teach me through this.

I realize that this cold have been a lot worse and that there are people going through way more than I am. I am thankful that God has protected me and helped me get to this point. I am thankful that He is in control. I am thankful for my family and friends who have been very patient and supportive. I am thankful for all of this situation because I know it did not catch God by surprise.

As my friend Sam says, "God's got this."

How AWESOME is our God! So glad for all of your protection and wisdom through this. Can't wait to benefit from the blessings HE bestows on you as you share what God is doing with us here at Midtowne. May HE continue to protect you and heal you and open your eyes to all HE is doing around you....can't wait for THE REST OF THE STORY...and HE writes on your life! Thanks for all you do!

So, I got up, took the kids to school, checked my e-mail, read this blog, and then went to sit down and do my quiet time. I always finish off my TAWG with a daily devotional from a book called Jesus Calling Enjoying Peace in HIs Presence by Sarah Young. I just wanted to share todays thought with you:
"February 16: THANK ME for the conditions that are requiring you to be still. Do not spoil these quiet hours by wishing them away, waiting impatiently to be active again. Some of the greatest works in my kingdon have been done from sick beds and prison cells. Instead of resenting the limitations of a weakened body, search for Myway in the midst of these very circumstances. Limitations can be liberating when your strongest desire is living close to Me. Quietness and trust enhance your awareness of My Presence with you. Do not despise these simple ways of serving Me. Although you feel cut from the activity of the world, your quiet trust makes a powerful statement in spiritual realms. My strength and power show themselves most effective in weakness. Zechariah 2:13, Isiah 30:15, 2 Corinthians 12:9..."

This made me think of your blog post that I had just read and thought I would share it with you. It also reminds me of my motto for 2010....my cup is neither half full or half empty, it is simply waiting on a refill, and the only way to refill it is through the WORD.

I had a concussion when I was 12. It took about 6 months for the dizziness and nausea to go away. I'm still waiting for normal. ;-) Head injuries make wonderful excuses.

Seriously, I'm praying for you and your family.
