why would anyone want to be a servant

Why would anyone want to be a servant? The truth is, when we hear that word we don't think of anything good. It is not a position to which we would like to aspire. It is not something that we wake up in the morning saying, "Hey, wouldn't it be great to be a servant today?" Let's be honest, the thought of being a servant is not very desirable.

And yet that is exactly what Jesus said He came to this world to be: a servant.

Check out Matthew 20:28. Jesus says His reason for being here is to serve others and give His life for others. So if we are going to be His followers, it makes sense that we should serve, too.

So how do I do it and what do I get for it? One way to serve is to join us at Rock Creek's Serving Ministry. It's a great way for you to show God's love in practical ways. We do all kinds of things. From washing windshields to having a party with kids in an apartment complex. And it's all done just to show God's love. No strings attached. No hidden agenda. Nothing expected in return.

However, we do get something in return. Without fail, every month when we go out serving the people who serve always receive a greater blessing than the one's they serve. The smiles, joy, and fulfillment that comes from serving others in God's name is indescribable. You just have to experience it for yourself.
